I wore the serum formula all day and noticed that my midday oily T-zone didn't sabotage my complexion as much — it held up (but also rubbed off on my napkin at lunch, so it's not bulletproof). MAY CONTAIN [+/-]: TITANIUM DIOXIDE (CI 77891), IRON OXIDES (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), TIN OXIDE, ALUMINUM HYDROXIDE, BISMUTH OXYCHLORIDE (CI 77163), MICA, TRIETHOXYCAPRYLYLSILANE. I find that I will need to set this with powder otherwise, it will end up looking both dewy and glowy (thanks to its gold highlights) which could be a recipe for disaster.

This protection is achieved without the use of chemical sunscreens and only through physical protection from Titanium Dioxide. These pigments are suspended in the proprietary spreadability system that allows pigments to look natural on the skin, resist collecting within fine lines and stay on for longer.I have oily/combo skin with some redness and breakouts, it doesn't fully cover blemishes but I dab some concealer on and I'm fine. When I heard that my favourite skincare brand is releasing a foundation range (with two different finishes! I’m allll about dat glow, I like mixing in a liquid highlight with my moisturizer and putting more as an actual highlight, haha.

Its foundations come in a wide variety of shades ( 21 to be exact), and they're free of parabens, sulfates, and a bunch of other ingredients, oh, and they're cruelty-free. I will use it as a day to day (work days) foundation but if my eye catches something else it will get moved to the back of my stash. These foundations contain higher pigment levels than our Serum Foundations but still offer a smooth finish that avoids the heavy makeup look that can make skin appear more aged. Even though it wore off on the oilier parts of my face by the end of the day, a little extra blending brought it back to life. These attributes are unique in foundations because it is exceptionally difficult to create a natural, lightweight look and consistent shades when using only non-nano forms of Titanium Dioxide for sun protection without any chemical sunscreen agents.I don’t think it looks too great on my combination skin and doesn’t last as long as I would need it to so it’s a no from me.

I’ve swatched it (photos below) once as a general swatch but also on the right over blue veins so you can see the coverage. My skin is very dry and has some redness, so I like a really moisturizing formula I can top with powder for maximum longevity. It's very luminous but not due to any shimmer, which is not what I look for in a foundation so it's rated a little lower to me. If there was a holy trinity to judge a foundation’s quality, it would be colour match, wear-time and coverage. The Ordinary Coverage foundation has a higher percentage of pigment for a more mattified, and higher coverage finish.

The foundations offer a satin finish and are compatible with most primers and are designed to work exceptionally well with the primers offering from The Ordinary. When I got home I realised that the foundation is actually a tiny bit too much on the yellow side for me. What's great is that even though this does coat your face in pigment, it doesn't feel cake-y or thick at all. Minor redness and imperfections are easily covered through those darker spots will require extra coverage though. I saw great reviews on YouTube for This product but unfortunately for me it’s too watery and it didn’t go on like I wanted to.
