It's such a simple story and so funny, it's definitely one I can see kids wanting to have a look at again and again, and I'm sure other adults like me would just love the sense of humour in this story too!

Freedom is secured not by the fulfilling of one’s desires but by the removal of desire…No man is free who is not master of himself. has no ending, in fact it kind of depends on the fact it has no ending, and I commend it to you without reservation. Also love how she laughs at the last page every single time, I've not seen any other books make her laugh like that.Recently went on holiday with friends with children and this was hit with all of them when we did the bedtime story together. Bérénice adore la drôle de dégaine de ce chien qui n'a, comme elle, pas beaucoup de contrôle sur ses pulsions. The subject to which George is about to approach is illustrated in full block colour whilst the scenery around it is thin and linear. Enjoy Chris Haughton's brilliant picture book about a dog who is trying to be good - really, really trying.

Howlingly funny, its luridly elegant illustrations will be in frequent demand; ideal for parents and grandparents to read aloud.Kids will relate to this dog who has every intention of being good, but just can't help himself when tempted. This book offers questions about what George might do and on the next page direct answers aren't given. Adapted from the award-winning picture book by Chris Haughton, this brand new show for everyone aged 3+ uses acrobatics, slapstick comedy, Sign Supported English and live music to bring George’s chaotic and joyful escapades to life. I got this book as part of the Chris Haughton Boxed Set:This has to be my favourite book from the whole collection of Chris Haugton picture books I've read! Not only is it entertaining and a very beautiful book, it has been invaluable in instituting boundaries with him in a humorous way - I jus.

In 2007, he was named one of Time magazine's Design 100 for his work for Fair Trade and People Tree. You’ve RUINED the place …’ With poor George in tears, Harris suggests a walk and George is soon faced once again with tempting situations; seeing a cake, lovely soil and a cat. Another feature of the illustrations is that whenever George has spotted or is considering to do something naughty, we see only his profile view showing his purpose 'towards' something.Shortlisted for the Kate Greenaway Medal and the Roald Dahl Funny Prize, Chris Haughton's distinctive artwork perfectly accompanies the innocent charm of affable George, a dog trying to be good – with hilarious results! When they subsequently go out for a walk, George stops himself from chomping on the cake (that is part of someone’s picnic), stops himself from chasing a cat (who is surprised), and stops himself from digging. Anniversary Edition By Chris Haughton It's hard work being good all the time – and it's especially hard for a dog like George!

I ran this one by Maddie (9) who chuckled at the voices we used, but she also liked some of the little surprises in the pictures. George, the hero of this dog-behaving-badly story from Haughton (LITTLE OWL LOST), hits the canine trifecta: oversize snout, floppy ears, and an anguished expression.

It resonates with anyone with blood pulsing through their veins--and especially with children, who are constantly being told what not to do.
