Each book is linked, there are characters we've met before and i honestly find it really exciting reading more about a character even if the book is no longer based on them. Meanwhile, he's trying to deal with his problems at home as his oldest son has had a personality change and is failing chemistry. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Schoolteacher Jenna Marshall is also worried about Brad, and she decides to share her fears with Steven.

Karen Rose is superb at what she does, she knows how to grip readers from the first page and there’s plenty of twists and turns.Steven is utterly at a loss with one son who suddenly seems to hate him and another who hasn't recovered from his trauma. With two winners in a row, Karen Rose has earned a spot on my favorite authors list, and I'm really looking forward to reading more of her novels soon.

The plot is tightly drawn, the villain is uber creepy, scary, and sadistic, the heroine, teacher Jenna Marshall, is spunky and endearing, and the suspense is edgy and intense, but the hero, Special Agent Steven Thatcher, who played a key role in Don't Tell, really got on my nerves in this one. Please don't misunderstand me - I like a good, well written romance, and am happy to read sexy novels, but this is not the author's best genre. The only flaw in an otherwise brisk and believable story is the romantic triangle Rose establishes between Jenna, Stephen and Neil. Towards the end I had a good idea who the killer was, but the author still managed to surprise me with a twist or two. Still haunted by his youngests son's abduction a few years back; Things take a turn for the worst, stumping investigators when their newest victim is found dismembered, Steven's need for this killer to be punished grows knowing himself how the parents of these teenage girls must feel, he puts everything into finding the sick person behind there brutal attacks, taunting the killer back via press conference, but at what cost?I cannot believe i only discovered her awesomeness this year, what have i been doing with my life guys? Karen Rose’s first novel, 2003’s Don't Tell , created something of a stir, with her heroine, Eve Wilson, brutalised, left unconscious – and requiring plastic surgery. Stephen's priest friend, Mike was a good sounding board for Stephen's problems with both his boys and Jenna. The romance seas are brimming with playboy heroes, so I couldn't help but find Stephen's perspective utterly refreshing.

Karen worked as an engineer for a large consumer goods company, earning two patents, but as Karen says, “scenes were roiling in my head and I couldn't concentrate on my job so I started writing them down. The 'romance' and laughable sex scenes are completely out of place in this book, and feel as if they have been written by a completely different author and slotted in.I read them again and again, these are to replace the ones that have gone missing and/or now have loose pages.

She keeps contact with her deceased fiance's family and her best friend is another teacher at the school she works for, High Point High School. The girls, abducted from their beds, have something in common apart from their cheerleading duties – they each have long dark hair. I loved that I was wrong about who the killer was (that almost never happens to me) and I loved the twist of it. Certainly, the tension here is delivered with similar mastery, and Rose (who was a high school chemistry and physics teacher – education’s loss was a gain for readers) knows how to juggle all the requisite elements in a taut narrative like this. We always endeavor not to give away endings or major plot twists in either our synopses or reviews, however they may occasionally contain information which some readers might consider to be mild spoilers. The serial killer plot is well done with some excellent twists and turns although a careful reader will find it very easy to identify the culprit. Other than those few small points, which didn't detract much from the reading experience, I was thrilled with this book and think Rose has established herself as a force to be reckoned with in the romantic suspense genre. For me, the romance is the predominant part of the book, and that's in deterrent of the crime, suspense and mystery. Being cheated on by a previous partner is no excuse for such tantrums, and in my experience, men who behave this way do not change with time. will follow the twists and turned in the murder investigation and the romance between Special Agent Steven Thatcher and Dr Jenna Marshall.
