Featuring the wonderful words of Michael Bond and beautifully illustrated by Peggy Fortnum, every page contains an uplifting message or lesson that everybody could do well to learn from.

But while it would be easy for Paddington to have become hopelessly dated, instead he seems to represent us at our best.Because of that, Michael Bond's description of Paddington as a 'built-in resident guru' is a very apt one. Bond also wrote culinary mystery stories for adults featuring Monsieur Pamplemousse and his faithful bloodhound, Pommes Frites. In 1997 Michael Bond was awarded an OBE for services to children’s literature and this was followed by a CBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours in 2015. Paddington was brought up to show good manners and he will not engage with those who fail to treat him with the same - he knows how to employ a good Hard Stare. I must admit that Paddington Brown really does hold a special place in my heart so this book could not be more perfect.

He served in the Royal Air Force and the British Army before working as a cameraman for BBC TV for 19 years. She graduated from the Central School of Art in London after the war interrupted her studies at Tunbridge Wells Art School, then worked as an art teacher, painter and textile designer before becoming a full-time book illustrator.

How To Be More Paddington: A Book Of Kindness by Michael Bond is a perfect book for anyone of any age who loves Paddington – and who can resist that little face? Michael Bond never thought of writing for children but, after producing a number of short stories and radio plays, his agent suggested that he adapt a television play for children. We bought it for a couple of friends for Christmas and I had a flick through to check the content was good enough! For the last 37 years of his life Michael Bond lived in London, not far from Paddington Station where it all began. My son has a 'My First Paddington' gifted by some lovely friends and a Paddington car seat toy which he has found variously amusing and terrifying.

Explore Paddington's unique and universal take on life in this very special collection of warm words about friendship, love, laughter and kindness. The illustrations of Peggy Fortnum are charming and took me right back to my first encounter with the illustrious ursine fifty years ago. Now you can learn how to be more like the much-loved bear from Darkest Peru in this uplifting collection of inspiring – often hilarious – quotes from the enduringly popular books by Michael Bond, with beautiful illustrations by the original Paddington illustrator, Peggy Fortnum. Peggy Fortnum's wonderful illsutrations are accompanied by lines from various Paddington books by Michael Bond.
